Professional Training and Experience
I am a freelance gilder and restorer for sculptures and polychrome wooden objects in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. I restore and conserve among other things the following objects and works of art:
- Panel paintings
- Polychromed ceiling panels, wall panels and sculpture from the 14th to the 19th centuries
- Church Ornaments
- Icons
- Polychrome picture frames and furniture from the 17th to the 20th centuries carved and polychromed small objects.
As a gilder I restore and reconstruct in accordance with examination results and model requirements

In addition I create modern and antique style handcrafted picture frames for paintings and mirror frames from different epochs and I have participated as a gilder in several artistic projects.
I trained as a gilder from 1985- 1988 in two highly regarded Hamburg training establishments. After returning to Berlin I underwent approximately 18 months of practical training in a wellknown private restoration workshop for paintings and polychrome sculptures in Charlottenburg, Berlin. From 1989 until 1991 I acquired an additional 18 months practical experience in the workshop of the Museumverbund Lüchow-Dannenberg.
